At Human design Group, we are passionate about creating environments and tools that optimise human performance in the space sector. Our team of experts, passionate about innovation and objective results, works closely with space agencies, companies and researchers to develop bespoke solutions that meet the unique challenges of the space sector.
Our integrated, user-centred approach ensures that every dimension of our projects, from the design of industrial spaces to the ergonomics of augmented equipment for astronauts and the optimisation of user interfaces, maximises the comfort, safety and efficiency of astronauts and space professionals.
At the outset, there is always an initial operational challenge to overcome.
We use a human-centred approach to translate requirements into solutions, actively involving end-users throughout the design process. Our concepts are then validated against a real operational context to extract maximum operational value from projects.

We analyse operational activities to identify concrete problems linked to the human factor and design opportunities. We accelerate research to understand human performance in the space context (stress, workload, fatigue, etc.) thanks to our own R&D.

We develop innovative concepts focusing on operational performance. Whether it's innovative operational concepts, intuitive man-machine interfaces or innovative control rooms, we offer the entire design cycle needed to operate the space, always putting people first.

During the design cycle, we iteratively validate solutions using rigorous methodologies that reproduce representative operational tasks. This ensures that the final solutions are effective, particularly when special or non-nominal cases arise.

Integrate operational requirements into the design of control rooms:

Taking human factors into account for assembly, integration and testing (AIT):

Designing innovative solutions to meet the challenges of human life in space:

Understanding the physiological and psychological impact of operations to design space solutions:

Define the best operational organisation to achieve optimum system performance, now and in the long term:

Design state-of-the-art HMIs to efficiently supervise and control space operations (satellites, SSA, manned flights):
As part of the Domino-X project, we designed the future of satellite operations by defining an AI-driven operational organisation. A 10-operator CONOPS has been designed in an innovative control room, drawing on proven best practice in other fields (nuclear energy, rail transport, air traffic control....) and the most rigorous ergonomic standards.
We designed a state-of-the-art supervision HMI offering efficient supervision of the satellite constellation. UX design methods were used to provide an easy-to-use wall of screens that allows major problems to be identified at a glance, significantly reducing the operational effort involved in monitoring massive amounts of data.
We have designed ÉOS, a new recovery experience for everyone, and especially for astronauts. Incorporating a range of innovative technologies, ÉOS offers a deep rest experience to optimise recovery, taking into account the time available, and monitors the user's condition in real time to adapt the session if necessary. ÉOS is used to reduce stress, combat sleep inertia and optimise recovery. Come and see our ÉOS laboratory in Toulouse!
