About us

Our identity

People are the key
real transformations.

A pioneering company in the study of the impact of digital transformations on human activities, Human design Group is the French leader in supporting design strategies.

Historically a founder, having opened up the «voice» of private consulting in ergonomics and human factors as early as 1978 in France (within Bertin Technologies, inventor of numerous innovations and the aerotrain), Human design Group has developed a singular and visionary genetics (well before UX design), based on its raison d'être to become and embody this missing and recognised link in our technological landscape by hybridizing the human sciences with those of transformational engineering («Human x Design»).

Our business

Bringing together disciplines such as design, ergonomics and human factors, as well as software engineering and expertise in data analysis, Human design Group has a native ability to design products, services, spaces and organisations that incorporate the challenges of complex, high-risk systems.

We integrate human factors into innovation and transformation projects in 6 strategic areas:

Mastering the user experience

We optimise the effectiveness and relevance of products, services, spaces and technologies for the benefit of the end user. This involves analysing needs and expectations and integrating innovative technologies and customised methodologies to enhance efficiency, experience and overall satisfaction through use.

Managing the risks associated with organisational and human factors

We help our customers to manage the risks associated with human factors through a detailed understanding of the interactions between individuals and the often complex systems within which they operate. This approach encompasses analysis, training and the implementation of protocols that reduce the risk of error and improve operational efficiency.

Controlling operational efficiency

We develop strategies and implementation plans that maximise performance while minimising the resources and effort required. This requires an analysis of current or future operations, an approach that often incorporates innovative methodologies and appropriate technological solutions.

Supporting change

The smooth transition to new working methods, technologies or organisational structures requires careful communication and planning, as well as constant support for employees to facilitate the adoption of paradigms that are both desirable and productive.

Rethinking working conditions

Well-being and the production environment directly determine the attractiveness of professions and sectors. This means rethinking the working environment and integrating changes that encourage the capitalisation of skills, the integration of new demographic challenges and, more generally, the commitment of employees.

Human factors training

It is essential to understand the behavioural and psychological dynamics that influence performance at work. This includes training employees as part of a project, but also, more generally, raising awareness among professional audiences concerned by human factors issues.

Our ambition

Putting people at the heart of our customers' transformations to take action sThis is our raison d'être and our daily ambition. This is our raison d'être and our daily ambition.

Our footprint

With over 45 years' multi-sector customer experience, major references in complex transformations and more than 140 human factors engineering consultants, we operate mainly in 6 key sectors: Aerospace, Mobility, Energy, Defence, Industry and Health. With 5 sites in France (Paris-Versailles, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Lyon and Bordeaux) and a subsidiary in Spain (Vigo).

Practices

Born of transformation

Our structure inherits our history through six major sectors in which we have been involved, and through three cross-functional operational divisions: consulting, research and training.

This organisation illustrates our multi-sector expertise and our desire to provide end-to-end solutions, cross-fertilisation and adaptability to the specific features of each project.

Strategy

Excellence through research and innovation

Originating from INRIA, our history is closely linked to research and experimentation, particularly around the challenge of adapting research methodologies in ergonomics and human factors to changing, often complex and sometimes risky areas of industry.

This founding act, infused into the Bertin Group over 40 years, has spread to all Human design Group programmes and underpins a strategy based on anticipating transformations and developing innovative assets designed to preserve the centrality of the human element in design methodologies.

Culture

Humanists, volunteers
and enthusiastic.

Our culture reflects our mission and strategy.

We cultivate a taste for excellence, a passion for challenges and a tailor-made approach in every project we undertake. Each and every one of our employees is a researcher at heart or in practice, having to respond both to the often strategic challenges of our customers and to the efficiency and ease of use of our employees and customers.
