Human design Group specifies the ergonomics of the control rooms (PCC) dedicated to traffic regulation on the Paris metro (lines 4, 9, 11 and 14)
Modernising the’control room ergonomics to integrate new technologies dedicated to supervision;
Rethinking the layout of control rooms and their activity areas in the light of organisational and technical changes brought about by :
projects to extend and automate certain lines;
the merging of several operational units (Regulation and Station Management) within the PCC. .

Intervention
Carry out an immersion (interviews, analysis of activity and benchmarking) within each PCC in order to :
Gather operational requirements from agents in terms of’control room ergonomics ;
Formalise feedback on the different configurations of the’control room ergonomics and identify areas for improvement and strengths to be maintained in terms of organisation, operational groupings and workstation layout; ;
Carry out architectural surveys to identify the technical constraints inherent in the building and the premises intended to house the future PCC;
Use an iterative and participative design approach to ensure that the operational requirements and needs of each stakeholder are taken into account and that the future operator takes ownership of the project;
Specify the’control room ergonomics (general layout, layout of activity areas and workstations) and control the room's physical environment (acoustics, lighting and heat) by proposing solutions adapted to the needs and constraints and/or architectural choices;
Propose a concept for the image and design of the future control room to combine modernity, comfort and quality;
Providing RATP with project management support in the areas of ergonomics and architecture throughout the works (ACT, VISA, DET, AOR, DOE).
Results
Specification of the layout and the’control room ergonomics (plans, sections, elevations, 3D modelling, virtual visit and ergonomic justification);
Supply of a Dossier de Consultation des Entreprises (DCE) for the fitting out of the control room (technical description, graphics, estimates, completion schedule);
Delivery of a control room in compliance with the DCE.
