Design of a typical control room for the EPR2
Identifying user needs, taking account of nuclear requirements and technological developments: we integrate the Human Factor right from the design stage to ensure safe and efficient commissioning and operation.
The iterative process, comprising 4 working groups, resulted in a solution based on feedback from the existing system, observations from the EPR and the project's hypotheses. Requirements and functional groups established on the basis of usage were used to guide the placement of workstations and equipment in the room. Two VR immersions were used to validate the proposed layout concept.
