Ergonomic redesign of business applications

Need

Human Design Group is assisting Pôle Emploi's IT Department with the overhaul of all its internal business applications.

As part of its strategic plan, Pôle emploi's Information Systems Department wanted to optimise the IS tools used by the division's 50,000 employees. This optimisation involves, in particular, the implementation of a design approach centred on the human operator, enabling the improvement of the ’user experience'.’the ergonomics of its IT applications.

Intervention

Human Design Group is supporting Pôle emploi's Ergonomics Department in implementing this approach and in designing or optimising the ergonomics of computer applications designed Pôle emploi agents.

As part of its remit, Human Design Group is involved in :

  • An analysis of the contexts of use (user characteristics, future activities, organisational, technical and physical environments) of future applications in order to identify the needs, problems and constraints to which they will have to respond;
  • Identifying the key user requirements for the design of the the ergonomics of IT applications ;
  • The definition and production of design solutions adapted to future contexts of use and meeting the requirements of their users.
  • Evaluation (user testing, expert evaluation, etc.) of the’ergonomics of IT applications allowing design choices to be validated iteratively and incrementally; ;
  • A post-deployment assessment of the quality of integration of IT applications into the activities of Pôle emploi staff.

Results

Human Design Group is assisting Pôle emploi's Information Systems Department with the development and production of applications that will increase productivity by optimising the quality of interactions and improving user satisfaction, while reducing the need for technical support and user training.
