ICAREx aims to build an interactive and immersive digital twin of the operation and control of new reactors (SMR), providing designers with an unprecedented toolbox for integrating systems engineering approaches and validating operating concepts centred on human and organisational factors as early as possible in the design phases.
Modernising control rooms means rethinking the means and organisation of control as well as the new work situations for operators, and demonstrating their human and organisational reliability as early as possible. Through an innovative immersive platform (ProuVR*) focused on human factors, we provide solutions for :
● co-designing new reactor control concepts with the operator,
● simulate future work situations by putting operators in situations using dynamic, interactive real-time operational scenarios,
● assess the performance of driving concepts by measuring the ergonomics of work situations and user behaviour using psycho-physiological sensors.
The ICAREx project, a winner of the recovery plan to support the nuclear industry run by Bpifrance, is supported by EDF R&D and brings together a high-level ecosystem made up of the Human Design Group, Corys, Ansys and Theoris.
Immersive XR simulation platform focused on the design and assessment of human and organisational factors for the transformation and validation of complex systems at risk.
