Workload of CO / LO operators on FREMM

Need

Human factor integration plan in the definition of the VIRCAD naval demonstrator dedicated to SIO / CO convergence and the workload of CO / LO operators on FREMM.

Integrate human factors into the VIRCAD upstream study, the theme of which is the convergence between Combat Management Systems (CMS) and Operational Information Systems (OIS) on board surface ships (frigates, APs, etc.).

Intervention

  • Participate in technical and operational analysis
  • Specify the organisation of operator tasks (operator tasks, workgroup, operator profiles) and the HMI of a Technico-Operational Illustrator
  • Define the methodology for evaluating the innovative principles proposed for work organisation, the workload and HMI

The solution

  • Analysis of activities on the edges
  • Formalising organisational concepts
  • Formalisation of optimised functional chains for processing and exploiting operational information
  • Experimental campaigns on simulators, with operational staff to assess the human factors involved in the distribution of tasks within CO/LO teams, assessment of the workload and HMI

Results

  • Operator-centric requirements definition file workloadl and organisation of work processes
  • Specification of organisational and HMI solutions
  • Definition, implementation and processing of simulator experimentation campaigns
  • Review of HMIs and task allocation for operator roles required for implementation
