What you’ll learn

Cette formation a pour objectif d’ appliquer les protocoles anthropométriques de mesure 1D pour intégrer des données morphologiques fiables dans un projet de conception.

Applythe protocols set out in ISO 7250 or other standards to select the relevant anthropometric measurements according to the design project.
Identify accurately identify the key anatomical landmarks on the human body to ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of measurements.
Handle anthropometric instruments, choosing the appropriate tool for the targeted body area.

To carry outintra- and inter-rater reliability tests to validate the reliability of the data collected and to identify sources of error.
Exploit the data collected by carrying out basic statistical analyses to assess the representativeness of the sample.

Course content

Day 1 (half-day) – Theoretical presentation

A brief history of 1-D anthropometry and its use in design,
Practical examples of use,
Standardised measurement methods and the anatomy of the human body.

Day 2 – Practical sessions

Carrying out around forty key representative measurements using all the tools available,
Intra- and inter-observer checks based on basic statistics,
Presentation: Descriptive statistical methods required for the analyses (mean, median, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, percentiles, Cormic index, correlation, basic tests).

Jour 3 - Analyse statistique

Calculation of the aforementioned elementary indices,
Correlations between distance measurements/perimeter measurements and thickness measurements,
Intra- and inter-observer tests.

Expert in Human Factors & Anthropometry

Rare expertise in reliable methods for industry, in collaboration with Bronislaw Kapitaniak (medical ergonomist) and Stéphane Lefort (pilot and captain). Formerly a senior lecturer (HDR) in Ergonomics (Université Paris Cité), co-founder of the Master’s in Ergonomics programme, and author of over 150 publications and innovative projects for Airbus, Renault, La Poste, etc.

Bronislaw Kapitaniak

Expert in Ergonomics, Occupational Physiology & Biomechanics

Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Physiological Sciences, former director of the University Diploma in Ergonomics and Occupational Physiology (Pitié-Salpêtrière). Specialist in exercise physiology, biomechanics and anthropometry.

Since 1972, it has been carrying out scientific assessments for major organisations such as EDF, DGAC, Airbus, SNCF, RATP, Toyota, Naval Group, etc.

Stéphane Lefort

Airline Pilot & Human Factors Expert – Captain – Instructor & Assessor

Experienced captain, Type Rating Instructor & Examiner. Founding member of the GRFH (DGAC) and head of the EGOAK unit (HMI assessment).

Several collaborations with Marion Wolff on key studies: pilot morphological diversity (Airbus/DGAC) and anthropometric surveys (DGA).
